new grass

the new grass is here, the new grass is here!!!! growing so fast, (sigh)
it has it's first mowing the other day.

dad and i went to mohegan sun on sunday to see some of the 1967 red sox team. they are his heroes. here are a couple of pictures of dad (he was so excited, he kept moving) with his all time favorite, YAZ. dad brought some the newspapers he had saved from 1967, showed them to the guys. they were just tickled.

i got my hair cut last week. i took picture of my shadow to show you my short hair. look at how fat my arm looks, not that it is thin by any means!!! but it looks like popeye. my other arm is carrying my shipping boxes and mail, it is not square.




and these are pictures of the cute little blades of grass, already growing in less than a week. it has been quite windy here this week, but i can't walk on the "lawn" yet to get that bucket.



dad was busy busy digging up some hosta from the old yard as well as some young trees that he got for his birthday last july. see 'em.

and finally some landscaping, sorta. last week was busy, busy with the front wall and walkway, as well as spreading loam. piles of mulch are waiting to be spread out front. this week its sprinklers and then grass. that will probably be it for a while. energy and $$ are low. anybody wanna buy our old house???? deerjumpproperties.com

give blood

how desperate am i to find something to post??? i gave blood yesterday and woke up to this nifty bruise today. there was a problem with the mechanism that switches from the big ole bag of blood and lets them fill tubes for testing. my nurse thought i had clotted or something and told me to keep squeezing. it wasn't me. really it wasn't. i kindly let them fill the tubes from my other arm, which doesn't like donating as much as the other one, but that bruise was not even worth a picture. so anyway, it doesn't hurt and everyone should donate. :)

rocks and walls

even though they dug up at least a million gigantic rocks here last summer, we STILL needed more for the retaining wall. sadly, we had to PAY to get them. aren't they large and just beautiful?? the girls, (for perspective casey) are the daughters of one of our friends from high school, sheryl. aren't they pretty?




these are the rocks doing their job and believe it or not we still need more!!
